Religious Gifts for Cancer Patients

All of these gifts are some sort of religious or Christian gift for people in the hospital or are undergoing chemotherapy. The majority of these are lost cost, affordable, and are digital downloads or can be purchased using Amazing prime delivery.

1. Bible Verse Coloring Book

One gift I enjoyed receiving while I was in the hospital was a scripture coloring book! I know firsthand how powerful it was to keep my mind focused on what the Word says as I faced the darkest days of my life. I have made a Bible Verse Coloring Book filled with my favorite scriptures that I clung to while I was going through cancer treatment.

2. Devotional

You can’t go wrong with a devotional as a spiritual gift for a cancer patient. The days are long, and can be very isolating.

My favorite one that I received was this one by Lysa Tuerkest.

3. Meaningful Jewelry

If the patient is a female, consider gifting her meaningful jewlrey with a bible verse on it. I recieved this bracelet that was made with the Mustard Seed of Faith in mind. Hospital gowns and loungwear get old after a while, and having a touch of feminitiy while in the hospital brought me some joy.

4. Journals

I recieved so many journals during my hospital stay with cancer. And everytime I got one, I was excited! You might consider writing a note or a prayer for the person on the first page of the journal. Encourage them to write their thoughts, prayers, worries throughout their hospital stay. It’s beautiful to look back on what I wrote while I was inpatient.

Adding a handwritten letter at the beginning is one way to make the journal more meaningful, and it helps your friend remember who it was from.

5. Air Pods

My husband bought me air pods for me to take to my chemotherapy sessions and hospital stays. It was a great gift! I was able to listen to worship music, podcasts, and watch tv shows without bothering the other people around me.

6. Essential Oils

I always loved when someone gifted me with essential oils when I was sick! My favorites are lavendar, lemongrass, and any stress relief or purification scents. Consider purchasing a diffuser for your friend as well. It can make their hospital room a more cozy place.

7. Scripture Memory Cards

A friend sent me some scripture memory cards when I got home from the hospital! I placed them all around my home. Every time I walked into a room, there was a new Bible verse waiting for me to read. Often times people forget about you when you get home from the hospital, you can think ahead of the game here and have these waiting for your friend when they retun home. Challenge them to memorize the verses!

At one time I was in the hospital for 6 consecutive weeks. I decorated my hospital room with twinkle lights and drawings from my daughters. I would have love if someone would have gifted me bible verse to decorate my hospital room with!

8. Lettering Bible

One of my favorite gifts I recieved was a lettering journal Bible. I wrote scriptures all throughout this Bible, and was able to be creative. Now that I am home, this is a very special Bible for me. Everytime I read it, and I read the pages that I lettered in it, it reminds me of how far I have come with the grace and mercy of God.

Write a letter in the opening of the Bible for the patient, this makes it a personal religious gift for them!

9. Subscription to the Dwell Bible App

If your friend is really sick, consider gifting them a subscription to the Dwell Bible App. It’s about 40$ for a year subscription. I remember being in ICU, so sick and unable to even read the Word of God for myself. With the Dwell Bible App, I was able to listen to the Bible being read to me.

This brought me comfort during so many nights of sorrow.

10. A Wig Made Out Of Their Own Hair

One of the coolest gifts I got as a cancer patient, was a wig made out of my own hair! Chemo Diva is the exact company I used to get a wig made out of my hair. I remember the first time I put on the wig of my own hair, after weeks of treatment. I felt, almost, like myself again.

I hope these spiritual gifts for cancer patients were helpful to you. I am thankful for all the religious gifts I was given when I was so sick.
