5 Passages In The Bible That Are Relevant Today

If you sometimes feel like the Bible isn’t relevant today, rest assured that you are not the only one. But the truth is, the Bible is relevant today. Here are 5 Bible Bible verses that are relevant today!

1. Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Instead of fixating on your problem, come to the Lord in prayer. Tell him your worries, and ask for him to intervene in your situation. You have to take every thought captive, and stand it against the mind of Christ Jesus!

This is one of my favorite Bible verses that are relevant today –maybe even now more than ever– with the amount of anxiety and fear that you might be living with. Even 2,000 years ago, the apostle Paul saw fit for him to teach on anxiety.

2. Ephesians 4:32

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

This passage in the Bible is relevant today, and will be forever, because let’s face it— it’s the gold standard. To forgive one another, be kind, and treat others how you would want to be treated.

This Bible verse is relevant for not only Christians, but any moral or “good” person in the world.

3. Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

This Bible verse should be the foundation for your life as a Christian. To trust in the Lord with all your heart. This is, of course, much easier said than done. Especially when life is hard and bad things happen. The key is to continue to trust him, and he will guide you.

4. Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Once you know God and have experienced His love for you—it’s easy to love him back. the Bible says we love him because he FIRST loved us.

What does it look like to love God with all your soul? your mind?

The second part of this verse, “love your neighbor as yourself.”

Neighbor just means anyone—not just the person who lives right next door.

So, love everyone as you love yourself. What does it look like to love yourself—without going over the top. There is an emphasis on self love these days, and that is great—but you must be careful not to be selfish or idolize yourself.

Yes, love yourself, but first and foremost love GOD.

5. Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they wereharassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus had compassion on the people of his day, and on the people today. He loves you so much, that he went to death on a cross, just for you. He is a compassionate God, and a God that is near to you. He came and left his word, the Bible, to teach you how to live like him.

Start thinking of Jesus as compassionate–this will help you as you navigate the challenges you face in your life. Simply knowing that he cares for you.

The Bible is still relevant today, and it will be forever!
